Julie Westfall is the Curation Editor for Digital First Media. Previously, she worked in digital news editing roles at KPCC, an NPRaffiliate in Los Angeles, and the experimental regional news startup TBD.com in Washington, D.C. She also worked in community newspapers in D.C. and was the managing editor of the Voice of the Hill, a paper for the Capitol Hill neighborhood.
Ms. Westfall grew up in Florida, and holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While earning her degree, Ms. Westfall worked as an intern at several daily newspapers, including the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Anchorage Daily News and the State Journal-Register. Prior to beginning her post-college career, Ms. Westfall served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Mali.
Ms. Westfall currently lives in New York City.
